nilu

nilu is a singer/songwriter and classically trained pianist from the age of 4. Growing up in the Middle East and California, nilu was surrounded by Persian classical music in the home and poetry nights at friends’ houses. Her strengths are creating beautiful, emotional, and soulful songs, utilizing the piano, guitar, tombak and other Persian percussion in her arrangements. She loves a big string section and dreamy chord progression. nilu’s music tends to embody themes of self-reflection, connection, and contemplation. She has opened for The Airborne Toxic Event, The Pacific Symphony, Vanessa Carlton and had the delight of performing for His Holiness the Dalai Lama at his 80th birthday celebration.

nilu is open to co-writes for her artist project and for film/tv. Her music has been most recently featured in The Resident, as well as Pretty Little Liars, iZombie, The Brave, Doubt, Station 21, MacGyver and Grey's Anatomy.
