Suede James is the musical alias of producer/songwriter Taylor Lawhon. As a writer/member with acts like Mating Ritual, Pacific Air, and producer of upcoming singer Lizzy Land, Lawhon has made a name for himself as a go to collaborator with a deft sense for melodic rhythms and impeccable sound design. After doing remixes under the name Pacific Air for acts like St. Lucia, Ra Ra Riot and Magic Man, Lawhon felt it was time to step out from behind the curtain and explore original content as well as more concretely define his remixing pedigree, thus coining the name Suede James.
Showcased on his debut EP, “Trust SJ”, Taylor crafts songs that explore a world of dark, industrial inspired synth-scapes that keep your hips moving while questioning everything you know about songcraft and structure.
